Love Yourself First

Image
If I make an observation, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a 'fact' -- it's merely just something I've experienced on my own with nobody else nodding their head in agreement. Maybe you'll find yourself nodding your head, and if you disagree, that's okay too. For the past several years, I have come across a few people who were very critical about other people's appearances and/or lifestyles. While everyone has a right to their opinion, I think it's safe to say that if you're single and ranting about how ugly, fat or too skinny someone is, you'll remain single. Who wants to be with someone who is overly picky about someone else's appearance? And while 'so & so' may not be the most attractive person on this planet, it's just best to keep those opinions to yourself, because someone else may find them extremely beautiful. An old friend who had been constantly on the prowl for Mr. Right once said to me after her date, ...

What Do You Believe?

Image
And yes, this is a real photo of my brain... Not sure what to make of this, but I'm questioning my dreams lately. Sometimes they make sense, and other times, they just sort of linger into this fog of curiosity. There are many people who say they can interpret dreams and I even went to a psychologist who currently still does "dream therapy" - where she could analyze your subconsciousness by what you dreamt about. It's an amazing technique so I hear, but I never wanted to go that route because I'm not 100% convinced that dreams are our subconsciousness telling us messages about ourselves, or if it's our brain going haywire for a few hours just because it's on "down time".  Have you ever dreamt of something so awful that you didn't even want to repeat it?  You try and figure it all out, but nothing ever comes of it. Meaningless really. Or is it? What about dreaming about lost loved ones who have crossed over ~to the other side~ or dreams t...

My Last Thought On This...For now...

Image
Of course I have to start off by saying, "by all due respect", but perhaps that would be a bit too formal. It's not that I don't have respect, because I have a ton of it -- possibly too much of it. Dad. I loved him. I still love him. It wasn't until my mid-thirties when he stopped me at the door from leaving, and then said for the very first time, "Hey, I love you, Deb." I was absolutely dumbfounded, not because he said "I love you", but because he hadn't said those words that meant so much to me my entire life. He wasn't a bad father - he was a great dad who always encouraged me and told me I was the best at what I did. He always said I should be doing something more profound with my life -- like become a famous movie star or cartoonist making millions. But, here I am, as my friend would put it, "small potatoes" living my life the best I can. His words still linger: "Ya' gonna be famous kid! Ya' too talented, I...

Don't Like Gay Marriages? Don't Get One...

Image
There is a big difference between "like" and "agree". For instance, I had a woman on my Facebook account write a quote from Rick Warren that stated, "Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, you must fear them or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don't have to compromise convictions to be compassionate."  This is just like saying, if you "disagree" with blacks intermarrying with whites. It's not a matter of "agreeing" --- if you don't like something --- don't pipe in on what others prefer to do or how they want to live. It's none of your business to agree or not to agree. You can dislike it all you want. But what about disliking the Kardasian's wedding, Tiger Woods or Newt Gringrich's lifestyle? Just because all were straight - then yes - they're all accep...

$20 Million to Hide JLo's Bad Behavior

Image
No doubt, we've all heard the suggestion of, "Don't put it out there if you don't want the world to know."  We know that nothing ---- nothing is 100% private. And some of us know that what we do behind closed doors (that we don't want anyone to know) with a select few people will eventually leak out in time. Trust no one. I don't care if you have the best relationship with your co-worker, boss or employee -- keep your shit under wraps. There should be a contract for all celebrities saying, "WARNING: If you act like this - the entire world will know."  But there isn't. There is only a contract for confidentiality of employees to keep things a secret, which ultimately turns into extortion in some cases and of course, a counter lawsuit by the victimized celebrity. $20 million dollars to keep whatever Jennifer Lopez did a secret must be a huge one. I can't imagine what's worth $20 million dollars. JLo's former driver and head of se...

Rosie O'Donnell's Fiancée Struggles With a Cancer-Like Diagnosis

Image
Rosie O'Donnell postponed her wedding with her fiancée, Michelle Rounds who is battling with a cancer-like diagnosis.  She posted a poem on her blog that described her journey about how this rare disease took a hold of their future plans. "...it was a honeymoon before the wedding pure bliss we laughed loved listened "then blink – it begins on mothers day morning pain that won’t let up "we wander thru the maze of medical mystery confused – scared mish gets even smaller i get even bigger – sugar my solace..." Michelle Rounds had surgery and is said to be recovering slowly. My heart goes out to Rosie and Michelle. There is nothing more difficult than watching someone you love in agony over a vicious disease that takes so many lives every single day. The last few days of my father's life was brutal. Not even three weeks ago, I watched Dad suffer so badly, that the worst part of it all was his agonizing pain and the inability to keep food, water or even m...

National Same Sex Kiss Day at Chick-fil-A

Image
Seriously? No wonder why so many conservative Christians think all homosexuals are perverts. Isn't there a better way to demonstrate your opposition instead of kissing random demonstrators of the same sex at an establishment that you're protesting at? The people who are going to be protesting today are the same people who give all gays and lesbians a bad name. They make people automatically think "SEX" when they hear anything regarding the gay and lesbian community. We're more than just showing a little PDA - we're loving companions, best friends, family units --- not just sex partners. I voiced my opinion on my Facebook page and a friend said, "I'll have a herpes chicken sandwich with a side of cold sores." This is only saying one thing: "Hey Chick-fil-A, you're right! We are sinful, promiscuous homosexuals that shouldn't be able to marry because we love kissing random people of the same sex." (The kissing part optional.)  ...
