Living Proof

Isn't it strange how different people of the same faith can pray or practice certain rituals? There are many Christians who are disgusted by the "lukewarm" services that are being held at some of our churches who worship the same God we do. Baptists love to sing and dance and rejoice in the Lord's presence. Some people speak in tongues, while other Christians feel that it's "demonic". In the Bible it lists that some people will have these gifts. So why debate this? In the Bible, there are quite a few references. 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 - If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret. 1 Corinthians 14:23 - If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in [those that are] unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 1 Corinthians 14:2 - For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaket...

You wouldn't normally think that a Christian conservative's mind would keep stumbling upon the same thought time after time: sex, sex, sex and more sex . I do believe that there are Christians out there that are very concerned about sexual relations (of any kind really), but more so in hopes to keep their own repressions in check. And hoping that I don't sound too redundant and cliche -- why do you think so many priests fail to fall into the "purity" category or perhaps slip into a slimy world of pedophilia? Their prey are usually weak and vulnerable. They need weak individuals to target, otherwise their mission would only be that much harder. I mean -- what adult in their right mind would have an affair with a priest without the notion of going to hell right before leaving his bedroom...or confession booth? I'll be the first one to admit I'm batshit crazy, but being a lesbian has nothing to do with that whatsoever. I have come across several Christian conservatives who were so homophobic, that they claimed that homosexuality is a psychological disorder. I have also heard the same with our transgender community being "psychologically deranged". Let me ask you this: the time and energy it takes to even hate on a particular group speaks volumes itself. Why would a Christian conservative be so intensely focused on homosexuality, that they feel the need to claim it's a mental disorder? I've even heard some Christians state that homophobia doesn't mean a "fear of homosexuals". You can read that again if you want. When Christians are faced with a threatening nature to their own very shortcoming, they get pushed into a corner and then lash out. Trust me, never be mean to a waitress. Your food will taste umm, different. A few months ago, I took my friend out to my favorite lunch spot. We sat down, ordered a couple of glasses of wine and some lunch. When the waitress came over, my friend's entire demeanor changed as though someone upset her. "This wine is just terrible! It tastes like vinegar and you probably had it out all night. Bring me something that wasn't opened. You may be able to fool some customers, but not me, lady...not me." The waitress headed off to the bar and quickly returned with a fresh glass of wine, to which again, tasted like "vinegar", but she'll "suck it up anyway" as she stated. Nothing annoys me more than being rude to somebody who had nothing to do with what you are upset over. Yes, she is the "face" of the restaurant -- your representative for the bar and kitchen, but being rude to someone who is serving you is just wrong and so out of line. W...

When you have a strong prejudiced opinion on something, shouldn't there be some kind of rule to know everything about it before making a "righteous judgment"? Here's my strong opinion on something that I have learned the hard way over the years about some Christians who are against same-sex marriage: they don't attack any other type of "sin". I remember when the Josh Duggar fiasco made its way into the headlines and was shocked to see how many Christian supporters there were, mainly due to his huge stance against gays and lesbians. What about the county clerk who refuses same-sex marriage licenses? Do you know there are many people telling her to "be strong" while she stands up for her beliefs that marriage should be between a man and a woman? And with that strong opinion of hers, she doesn't look at herself and say, "Hmm, well I have four divorces under my belt." She refuses to look at her own shortcomings as an "adultere...

To tell you the truth, even I'm sick of this legalization of same-sex marriage. It's not because I'm against it -- I mean, how can I be? I'm married to a woman. But it's the back and forth conversations (or arguments) of those who are for it and those who are against it. I'm pretty much over it, mainly because of all of the ugliness I have seen out there. I have heard outrageous arguments -- anything from, "Well wut' next? Yew gonna marry yer' brother or sister now? Yew gonna wanna hook up with your uncle? How 'bout yer' pet," to "It's a sin and you're going straight to hell in a handbasket!" (I never understood why they would place a handbasket in the mix.) For one, not every gay or lesbian out there is a Christian. Some may happen to be Atheists. That's just for starters. Matt & Alissa Walsh & The Duggars Within the last couple of days, I have been responding to a post entitled, "T he Duggars Aren't Hypocrites. Progressives Are ," by a blogger named, Matt Walsh. I read Matt Walsh because I like content that goes against my grain. Some of it I agree with, while others I don't. That's the beauty of following someone with drastic opposing opinions. He wrote about Josh Duggar and if you're not sure who Josh Duggar is, he is a reality TV star on the show called, 19 Kids and Counting on TLC.  The show was pulled after news of him sexually molesting several girls as well as his own sisters when he was a teenager. Josh was apart of an anti-LGBT religious group, to which he quit due to the issues brewing all over mainstream media.
