What Lies Beneath the Consciences of Antigay Christians

It matters not who you love, where you love, why you love, when you love or how you love, it matters only that you love. --John Lennon Years ago, I had a straight friend who would ask me so many questions about being gay -- anything from what type of girl I liked to what I did in the bedroom. I was always uncomfortable being asked these things, because even if I was straight, I don't want to explain anything that personal to a friend. She always wanted to know details and "how" can two women be together 'like that'. Why was she so curious? A year later, I found out why. She had her own issues of being "bi-curious' -- she didn't know if she was straight or gay. Many people feel that way, they can go either way -- and that's okay. It's who you love regardless of the gender for some people. Even these days, I have had three people that seemed like they were badgering me about religion and sin and whatnot. I always take the time to respond an...

NO SOUP FOR YOU! Or Cake...or Pizza...or Flowers

Miserable people. What makes them so discontent with life and everyone around them? There's a lot of truth when they say that misery loves company. Some feel jaded that their lives are so miserable, that they want to make yours miserable as well. I find that more people come together when they hate something more than they do when they like something. Maybe it's addicting to be a miserable bastard. I learned that most miserable people don't like themselves at all. Their love tank is on "E" and there is nothing left for them to give to anybody else. It's also true that whatever you hate in somebody else, is what you hate about yourself. There has to be some connection you relate to in order for those intense feelings to surface. Why are Christians so incredibly angry at gays and lesbians? Fear and intimidation has a lot to do with avoidance or just being aloof, in order to to lash out at those who are perhaps a bit different than you -- maybe a deep seated is...

Matt Walsh: You're Hurting People in the Name of Religion

Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act has become one of the most controversial topics on social media. It thrives upon the First Amendment rights, yet it leaves some people feeling bitter and outraged about the underlining tones of feeling discriminated against. So for instance, if a gay couple wants to buy a cake for their wedding, they can be turned down. Ok, fine -- go to another baker who will do it. But is it really fine? Can they take their religious stance a bit further and discriminate against other people as well? They're setting us back 50+ years with this type of mindset.  So if 'this bakery' stands firm in their "freedom of religion" -- then so can the other bakery or florist down the road. Maybe a cafe wants to show their "freedom of religion" and ban gays and lesbians from entering their establishment too. Who knows -- the possibilities are endless. I've written about this before and I just feel like a broken record at ...

Why Are Many Christians Going by the Old Law?

Years ago, when blogging used to be big -- before even social media took center stage, I used to get 30-200 comments, depending on the post and its content. Everyone seemed to have a Blogger account, unless of course they wanted to hop on as "anonymous" and either hide their identity or spew off their dislikes about whatever. These days, it's strange. I'm finding that I receive more emails and Facebook "likes" rather than comments on this blog. I also noticed that even though I can receive 100-200 "likes" on Facebook, there is hardly any engagement, and if there is, it's usually my regular passionate readers voicing their opinions, and that's great. I love it. But the most input I receive is through email or my little contact box which can be found on the right side of this blog. I was happy to receive a thought provoking comment left by someone who went by, "H".  I cannot address the gender, but I did answer their question wi...
