Nonfactual Mishmash Christian Conspiracy Theories

Image
Isn't it strange how different people of the same faith can pray or practice certain rituals? There are many Christians who are disgusted by the "lukewarm" services that are being held at some of our churches who worship the same God we do. Baptists love to sing and dance and rejoice in the Lord's presence. Some people speak in tongues, while other Christians feel that it's "demonic". In the Bible it lists that some people will have these gifts. So why debate this? In the Bible, there are quite a few references. 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 - If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret. 1 Corinthians 14:23 - If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in [those that are] unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 1 Corinthians 14:2 - For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaket...

Doomsday Prepping or Suicide? Hmm...

Grab yer' guns folks - martial law is here!  Do you ever wonder if conspiracy theories are true? Do they ever come into fruition---ever? I read an article here that explains sixteen conspiracy theories that had come to reality. It's scary to think that Texas is running out of water, Obama is tapping into our privacy: phone, internet, financial transactions, etc., for the means of protecting us from "terrorism". Our food is tainted, and allowed to be under the FDA as well as cancer viruses being put into our vaccines. You'd have to dig real deep in order to find that out. All of these things that have happened, and all of those conspiracy theories that are 'thought-to-be real' can sometimes drive us crazy. I met my first "doomsday prepper". Well, he wasn't too prepped since he hasn't set up his underground bunker for him and his family, but he constantly walks around his house in terror...and a gun placed at every door and hallway. He...

Mass Hysterica On Social Media

Image
Finally, all the fights and shit slinging have simmered down on Facebook regarding the Zimmerman trial. I had a few posts that took a turn for the worse ( especially this one ) where a commenter with strong opinions made a snarky comment to the person who disagreed with them. Then it snowballed from there. The thing I don't understand whenever there is a controversial topic going on is when people start insulting one another, calling each other "stupid" or "ignorant" or even resorting to name calling. The fact is: there is nothing you can do about what happened. Whatever our opinions are. ..are just that . Fighting with other people is absolutely pointless because you're wasting your breath trying to convince someone else to go along with what you think it "right". Some people don't tolerate debates (even if childish) on their Facebook account, but as I see it, comment at your own risk because I have more than a few nutcases on my account, i...

The Apocalypse is Upon Us

The other morning I was having breakfast with Madelene watching the news. A short news clip came on showing that Domino's is trying to deliver pizza with drones. I thought it was a great idea, until Mad shot me a look of concern. I'm like, "Isn't that great - you just answer the door and this things hovers until you grab the box of pizza. No tipping!" The sad thing is, I hate pizza. But you see my point. Madelene said, "No, not 'great', Deb," and then leaves the room to finish getting ready. I started to ask why and realized she was insinuating that this is the beginning of the end - 'they're all watching us' type of mindset. She reminded me that they're probably watching us with little drones that are the size of a fly. The way I think about it is -- if you're not doing anything wrong, then what's the problem? Why would anyone want to spy on me? Fine, you wanna peek at my fat ass then have at it. She then went on to say...

We're All Gonna Die Anyway

There are times when the media is "fun and entertaining" and there are other times when the media can be questionable, or somewhat skewed in their facts. But the one thing that makes me crazy are conspiracy theorists conjuring up all sorts of stories to try and "debunk" whatever's brewing. For instance, remember the claims that the conspiracy theorists made about Newtown? They called it The Sandy Hook Shooting Hoax and claimed that they were all actors and that the tragic ending of childrens' lives were all staged. It went viral. Surprisingly, many, many people believed it because it was so incredibly shocking that some people just didn't know how to react to it, which resulted in various versions of the story. People are human and they get nervous -- they were traumatized. How are they supposed to act? In this video , you can see how "believable" it could have been if it just went a step further, one step towards truth. But it didn't. Co...

Conspiracy Theories: Do You Believe Them?

Sometimes we need a little stir in our news stream opposing to what we think and know when it comes to the world, and other times, sometimes those little ‘stirs’ are taken too far in my opinion. For instance, remember when the swine flu was going around? Everyone was so scared about this flu that it nearly left me paralyzed with anxiety. (What doesn’t though?) Even my wife was hesitant to shake her clients’ hands and I wouldn’t dare open a doorknob without my sleeve. Then, when the swine flu did hit me, it was in fact...the flu. Nothing more, nothing less. I got through it with no medication and I treated it like any other flu. When all of the hype simmered down and the swine flu was somewhat of a distant thing, the government was adamant about having everyone get the swine flu vaccination. Wow, what a good idea, but lemme’ Google it first. I always, always Google anything ‘new’ or questionable. They had tons of videos out saying that the H1N1 vaccine was giving people nerve damage, an...
